Study Buddy Tutoring

• Sessions are typically scheduled two times a week for 45 minutes per session.
• Students commit to an entire semester (not a drop-in program).
• Attendance will be logged, and students are expected to come prepared with appropriate materials.
• Student who are consistently absent or late, or arrive ill-prepared, may be asked to leave the program.
• Most students concentrate on homework in subject areas where they are having difficulty.

Tutors are current MVHS students who offer their time and expertise to fellow students at no charge. Tutors must fill out an application and partake in a brief interview and orientation to be considered for the program. Tutors must show academic strength through grades. Tutors earn volunteer hours for their tutoring services.

Tutor Sign-up

All students, regardless of their grades, may request tutoring. However, availability of tutors may be limited for some courses. In addition, preference will be given to students with lower grades, seniors who do not meet graduation requirements and ELD and SPED students.
